Pathologic findings on ruminant enteric clostridial diseases reveal specificities and differences among iota and iota-like toxins

چکیده

The iota toxin (ITX) is a binary enterotoxin produced as protoxin by Clostridium perfringens (C. perfringens) type E that activated proteolytic enzymes in the small intestine of infected animals. By depolymerization actin filaments, ITX causes cytoskeleton disorganization cells promoting increase cell permeability. Here, we conducted this review aiming to advance understanding enteric clostridial diseases caused C. toxins and specificity intestinal mucosa lesions. consists an enzymatic component (Ia) binding (Ib). We screened recently published histological findings effects its relationship with diseases. Histologically, hemorrhagic necrosis multifocal hemorrhage have been observed jejunum-ileum mucosa, intestine, abomasum. Although diagnosis still based on presence contents clinical and/or history, it important develop novel enterotoxemic indicators capable establishing precise methods for differentiate actions other involved infectious process E.

Clostridial Binary Toxins: Iota and C2 Family Portraits

There are many pathogenic Clostridium species with diverse virulence factors that include protein toxins. Some of these bacteria, such as C. botulinum, C. difficile, C. perfringens, and C. spiroforme, cause enteric problems in animals as well as humans. These often fatal diseases can partly be attributed to binary protein toxins that follow a classic AB paradigm. Within a targeted cell, all clo...

CD44 Promotes Intoxication by the Clostridial Iota-Family Toxins

Various pathogenic clostridia produce binary protein toxins associated with enteric diseases of humans and animals. Separate binding/translocation (B) components bind to a protein receptor on the cell surface, assemble with enzymatic (A) component(s), and mediate endocytosis of the toxin complex. Ultimately there is translocation of A component(s) from acidified endosomes into the cytosol, lead...

Differential requirement for the translocation of clostridial binary toxins: iota toxin requires a membrane potential gradient.

Clostridial binary toxins, such as Clostridium perfringens Iota and Clostridium botulinum C2, are composed of a binding protein (Ib and C2-II, respectively) that recognizes distinct membrane receptors and mediates internalization of a catalytic protein (Ia and C2-I, respectively) with ADP-ribosyltransferase activity that depolymerizes the actin cytoskeleton. After internalization, it was found ...

The host cell chaperone Hsp90 is necessary for cytotoxic action of the binary iota-like toxins.

The heat shock protein Hsp90 is essential for uptake of the binary actin ADP-ribosylating toxins Clostridium perfringens iota-toxin and Clostridium difficile transferase into eukaryotic cells. Inhibition of Hsp90 by its specific inhibitor radicicol delayed intoxication of Vero cells by these toxins. A common Hsp90-dependent mechanism for their translocation is discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the degree of insight into illness is associated with long-term inpatient treatment outcome in chronic schizophrenia. Inpatients diagnosed with schizophrenia were evaluated using the Global Assessment of Functioning (GAF) scale and the Functional Skills Rating Form (FSRF) at baseline and at follow-up evaluation 1 year after treatment. The Sca...
